Highlighting Spring 2017s Share Your Shutters Winner

Dan Taylor

We’re moving through springtime here in Atlanta, but don’t think we forgot about our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest. Our latest winner is Tonya S., who shared some photos of her home that truly show what shutters can do for a home.

white shutters in dining room

Tonya’s house features some stunning new Polywood® plantation shutters in her dining room. Because those shutters are closed, you can really get a look at how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Envision that dining room with a slightly softer light; it’s almost the perfect setting for a personal candlelit dinner, right? With the right shutters in your home like Tonya has, you can capture the mood you want no matter what it’s like outside.

Also of note is how the white shutters flawlessly match the white trim near the floors and the white ceiling. Those neutral tones let the black table and the hardwood floor’s texture ”pop” even more.

But that wasn’t her only photo submission. Below is another photo she submitted of her new sliding barn door shutter!

wood barn door shutter

There’s a few reasons we love this barn door shutter. First off, it looks fantastic. The homespun aesthetic of the wood paneling with that smooth jet black sliding track up top give a timeless yet relaxed look. What we love even more than the looks is the practicality of the shutter. The barn door shutter sits off the window frame, so it can control the light levels while still letting the window operate.

Because the shutter sits outside the frame, Tonya can still use her window sill. As an example, if she wanted to set a flower on the sill to get sunlight, she could even close the shutter so it can soak up some rays while keeping her home as dim or bright as she wants.

According to Tonya this is the third time they’ve had Sunburst install window treatments for her home, and we want to thank her for her continued support in choosing us for all her shutter needs. For being selected as our Share Your Shutters feature this time, Tonya will receive a $100 gift card to a local restaurant.

If you want to show off your shutters and possibly be featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your favorite room with shutters using the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or post a photo on our Facebook page. We’d love to show off some shutters from a Georgian next go around!

Or if looking at Tonya’s home makes you think your home is missing a little something, we want to help. Call 404-962-8517 today to talk to one of Sunburst Shutters Atlanta’s window design experts to begin.
